Message Fired up the Z for the first time in a year and a half. Let her idle 5 mins and everything seemed fine.

Went and ran some errands, came back and started the Z up and let her idle in the driveway with the hood open and with a house window open so I could listen to her idling. About 15 mins later I hear a sound outside, sounds like a weedeater but I think it may be my aux fan on high for some reason. Walk out to check and see a mist coming from the Z’s engine bay. I walk closer and realize it is fuel spraying from the small fuel line at the bottom of the FPR!

Fuel is all over the top of the engine, and even after I turn the engine off you can see the fuel vaporizing off the hot engine. Eeek.

Got my screwdriver out and checked all the fuel line clamps and many of them were not tight. And the lines are new (hour wise), with mostly new clamps.

This is twice I’ve nearly lost the Z to a fuel fire, previously the same section of line ruptured on me right after I had replaced all the lines and was test driving in my neighborhood and I started smelling a lot of raw fuel……

Mike
